In February 2023, Portuguese project partners SPEA visited Malta together with three Portuguese fishermen to share their experiences about using mitigation measures and improving sustainability in their fisheries. They met officials from Malta’s Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Maltese fishermen, and exchanged views about their cultures and work, especially on accidental bycatch in fisheries.
