Here is some amazing data from Greek project partners HOS/BirdLife Greece about the foraging trips of Yelkouan Shearwaters in the Northern Dodecanese island region. Seven adult Yelkouan Shearwaters were tagged with GPS transmitters by the Greek field team in order to track their foraging grounds. After last year’s surprise with the data from the island of Gyaros (Cyclades), they were happy again this year to see that the birds of the Northern Dodecanese feed in the Black Sea as well, and indeed for several days, while their couple patiently sits still in the nest, incubating their unique egg!
