Project Manager Manya Russo was invited on ONE TV’s The Local Traveller presented by Clare Agius to speak about the work being carried out by the project to improve the conservation status of the Yelkouan Shearwater and the Balearic Shearwater. The TV show visited Aħrax tal-Mellieħa to share with its audience information about the Yelkouan Shearwater, a seabird that breeds in this area. At this site we carry out important research as part of the project led by BirdLife Malta. Manya explained more about this bird, its importance for the Maltese Islands, the threats it faces, and even how the general public can ensure the protection of this species with simple measures that can be taken when visiting such areas.
