The LIFE PanPuffinus! team recently welcomed 6th form and university students to the Malta Science Students Forum at Salina Nature Reserve.
This year’s theme focused on bird migration, with students presenting their research and showing strong interest in science and conservation.
BirdLife Malta staff gave a keynote speech, highlighting efforts to track seabird movements and study diving behaviours across recent years.
These studies help protect threatened species like the Yelkouan Shearwater by identifying key areas they depend on for survival.
The event offered students a chance to explore real-world conservation work while connecting with professionals in the field.
BirdLife Malta values opportunities like these to inspire and support the next generation of scientists and nature defenders.
If you’re interested in nature or ornithology, reach out—we’re always happy to connect and collaborate with young conservationists.
